Parks Hall Addition & Renovation
Final design layout approved by both the College
and students
When students passed the Student Campus Enhancement Fee in 2007, three of the higher priority projects were: 1) expand the Parks Student Union Building, 2) renovate and expand the College cafeteria, and 3) renovate and expand the Russell Day Gallery.
In June of 2010, the College will begin a construction project to build an approximately 5,600 sq. ft. cafe addition to Parks (to be located between Parks and Jackson) and relocate and expand the gallery in part of the existing cafeteria space. This project can move forward due to the much lower than expected construction cost for the new Fitness Center.
This project will take approximately 9-10 months to complete. The new cafe and gallery are scheduled to open at the beginning of Spring Quarter 2011. To shorten the time frame for this project, the current cafeteria space will be closed during the construction period. During this period, meals and snacks will be available at a variety of locations on campus.
College employees and students from the ASB have been working on the design for the new cafe.
