Message from EvCC Foundation President Mike Deller
Welcome to the Everett Community College Foundation!
Dear Friends,
In 1983, my father, William Deller, was asked by Everett Community College President Bob Drewel to create the EvCC Foundation to help Everett Community College and its students.
My dad had just retired as the college’s Dean of Students. He took on the challenge of establishing the Foundation, and in 1984 the non-profit began with $1,000 donated from community members and in-kind donations from businesses.
In the 24 years since, the EvCC Foundation has grown significantly. Thanks to generous donors, the Foundation now provides more than 100 college scholarships to students every year, equips classrooms with crucial technology, provides training for faculty and staff, and helps college programs thrive.
The need for support has also grown. The economic challenges for our students are greater than ever. With the rising cost of tuition and books, too many potential college graduates cannot afford to earn their degrees.
Helping these students is an investment in our community’s future. With a small amount of help now – one quarter of tuition, one book, one emergency loan – we can help students earn the degrees they need, and local employers get the graduates they want.
My dad always says that if donors could just see five to 10 years down the road in the life of the person they’ve helped, they’d be lined up to support the Foundation. I believe that too, and hope to continue his legacy.
As a graduate of Everett Community College, I am committed to helping EvCC become an exceptional college for future generations of students. State funding alone is not enough to reach this goal.
We need your help. Join me and friends in your community by volunteering, providing financial support, or attending a Foundation event. Every contribution makes a difference.
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Mike Deller
