Employee Performance Evaluation Policy

It is the policy of the Board of Trustees of Washington State Community College District V that all employees of the District shall be provided an opportunity for individual development and increased effectiveness. The maintenance and improvement of a competent student oriented staff is essential to assure a high quality of post-secondary educational services to the residents of Snohomish County. Such evaluations will be constructive, objective, and consistent, be implemented throughout the district, and serve the following purpose:

1.      To provide a clear understanding by all employees on what they are expected to achieve.

2.      To encourage performance which will contribute to a high level of service.

3.      To encourage development of individual skills and provide a reasonable basis for individual improvement.

4.      To provide an opportunity for administrative review, individual self-evaluation, student evaluation and to the extent feasible colleague evaluation all of which will become the basis for the establishment of objectives aimed at improved performance and effectiveness through self-development and district supported employee development.
