Achieving the Dream - About the Grant
To help more community college students succeed, especially low-income students and students of color.
Build research capacity; develop a culture of evidence and inquiry focused on student success; and pilot student success interventions aimed at increasing student success within the Student Achievement Initiative framework, with particular emphasis on increasing first year credit accumulation and improving success in pre-college courses.
Read about four Washington ATD Leader colleges and how they are increasing student success and completion outcomes in the 2012 publication, Moving the Needle to Improve Student Success .
Everett Community College's participation in Achieving the Dream is funded by a grant from College Spark Washington in the amount of $550,000 over four years. $75K is paid directly to ATD each year; EvCC receives the remaining $250K spread over the four year grant period to assist with research, community and campus engagement, and implementation of student success initiatives.
Recognizing that Washington has a strong community college system that is worth investing in, College Spark Washington committed more than $10 million to enable 16 Washington Colleges to participate in Achieving the Dream.
