Monday - Feb. 9
Sex Fair, 10am-1pm @ Parks Student Union

What better way to kick off Sex Week than with a fair? Organizations from around the Puget Sound Area will have tables in Parks Student Union to provide students with the opportunity to learn about the resources that they offer as well as the importance of the organizations’ existence. Organizations attending will include: Providence Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse, The Center for Sex Positive Culture, Planned Parenthood, and more.

There will be FREE goodie bags available to attendees, as well as an opportunity to submit questions relevant to the various themes of Sex Week anonymously. Write any question you may have on a piece of paper, and place it into the Q&A box. David Bayless will randomly answer your questions the next day during his workshop, “Taking Charge of your Sexuality: A Crash Course on Safe and Enjoyable Sex.” This event will be an extremely exciting, educational, and rewarding experience for those who participate. We look forward to seeing you there!

Taking Charge of your Sexuality: A Crash Course on Safe & Enjoyable Sex
David Bayless
2:30-4pm @ Jackson Center Auditorium

David Bayless has been a public health educator as part of the Communicable Disease Team with the Snohomish County Health District since 2004. He has also worked with GLOBE, an LGBTQIA+ youth group, since 1999. GLOBE stands for GLBTQ Loving Ourselves Becoming Empowered. David talks about sex every day, and is incredibly gifted at making his audiences feel comfortable and entertained.

In his honest, funny, and informative workshop, David Bayless aims to educate the Everett Community College campus and community about sex.  David’s workshop will cover a wide range of information, including the four most prominent STD’s, and how to prevent and protect against them, personal identification, abstinence, risky activities vs. non-risky activities, and use of prevention tools. Finally, David will randomly select questions to answer from Monday’s Sex Fair Q&A box. Attend this workshop to learn about yourself, and be provided with a safe and comfortable space to discuss sex.

The Sexual Revolution
Dr. Diane Brown
2:30pm-3:30pm @ Jackson Center Auditorium

Everett Community College professor Dr. Diane Brown explores the evolution of sex in the United States in her informative workshop. How did we move from a sexually repressed culture so strongly influenced by the early 20th century Victorian Era to the free-swinging liberal attitudes of the 1960s and 1970s in such a short span of time? Are the new conservative views of the 2000s to present day a sign that the sexual revolution is over, or has it only just begun?

In this seminar we will explore the historical influence of religion, education, and the media on American culture’s views of sexuality. Topics discussed include the Women’s movement, medical innovations, mass media, sex education, and LGBTQIA+ rights. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own iclickers for participation in anonymous question polls during the presentation. To audience members who are unable to bring iclickers, they will be provided. Join us for an open and enlightened discussion about sexuality in the United States.
