eLearning Course Formats and Fees

Online Courses (OL):
arrow  allow you to connect to a 'virtual classroom' (ANGEL) through the Internet.  Within the classroom students submit assignments, interact with other students, and communicate with the course instructor electronically;
arrow  are not self-paced.  They follow a weekly schedule and follow the college calendar.
Course Cost:  tuition + $2.50 per credit online fee starting Winter Quarter 2011

Hybrid Courses (H):
arrow
  a portion of the work is done online using ANGEL;
arrow  meet weekly on campus.
Course Cost:  tuition + $2.50 per credit online fee starting Winter Quarter 2011

Web Enhanced (WE):
arrow
  are face-to-face courses that require the use of ANGEL or other web-based tools.
Course Cost:  tuition + $2.50 per credit online fee starting Winter Quarter 2011

Washington State Online Consortium (WAOL):
arrow
  allow you to connect to a 'virtual classroom' (ANGEL) through the Internet from the WAOL website.  Within the classroom students submit assignments, interact with other students, and communicate with the course instructor electronically;
arrow  are not self-paced.  They follow a weekly schedule and follow the college calendar.
Course Cost:  tuition + $2.50 per credit online fee starting Winter Quarter 2011

Telecourses (TC):
arrow  use a videotaped series that is checked out from the college library for the quarter.  Students also purchase textbooks from the College bookstore;
arrow  require students to attend on-campus sessions throughout the quarter for course orientation, discussion, to take exams, or other activities as scheduled.
Course Cost:  tuition + $60 license/rental fee

Check out the current tuition rates.  Students taking credit courses may be charged a technology fee of $3.50 per credit, up to a maximum of $35 per quarter.
