Welcome to EvCC Running Start
We are excited you're interested in Running Start! Feel free to connect with us for more information.
Who: Everett Community College, in partnership with public high schools, offers an opportunity for juniors and seniors to take classes at EvCC.
What: The Running Start program provides tuition-free, college-level courses for students to take. Participants may enroll as either full or part-time students. Running Start students can apply credits toward both high school graduation and future college degrees at the same time.
Each year, over 1000 students participate in the program from around Snohomish County. EvCC is proud of the high quality educational experience and comprehensive services we offer high school participants. Our goal is to support you on your educational adventure; whether that's transferring to a university or getting a professional certification.
Where: On any EvCC campus or online!
When: You build your own schedule! You can take day or evening classes. We offer 2500 classes each quarter. Most Running Start students select three college classes to take each quarter. Because college classes are based on a credit system, a full time Running Start student takes three classes for three months and then selects three new classes.
Students can take Summer Quarter Classes (July through mid-August) but they are not paid for by Running Start.
Why: College is expensive. Running Start saves you tons of money since the tuition is paid by the school. You will also save time because the courses you take in Running Start count as college credit and also as High School Graduation credits. In addition, universities are looking for students who challenge themselves while in high school. What better way to challenge yourself then to take college classes at a college while you are still in high school!
