Placement Test/Skills Assessment
Our Skills Assessment (placement test) is required for students new to Everett Community College who are taking more than 7 credits, or taking classes that have a English, Math or Reading level prerequisite. The reading, writing and math scores are also used for advising purposes, to help you and your advisor plan the best classes to match your skills and your career and educational goals.
Skills Assessment is given in two forms: the paper-and-pencil ASSET, and the computerized COMPASS. They are available at the following times in our Testing Center in the Parks Student Union Building, Room 308 on the 3rd Floor.
New Students can look for information on our SOAR for Success sessions. SOAR is our "one stop shopping" day, where you can test, attend orientation, meet with an advisor and then register for your classes.
Do I have to test? I've already earned a degree! I've already tested at another school! I'm only taking one class! Sound familiar? If you have questions or wonder if you really need to test, then click here for more information about alternatives, re-take, preparation, and sample questions.
PLEASE NOTE:
The following Testing Schedule is effective April 9, 200 to August 31, 2008
