Placement Test/Skills Assessment
Our Skills Assessment (placement test) is required for students new to Everett Community College who are taking more than 7 credits, or taking classes that have a English, Math or Reading level prerequisite. The reading, writing and math scores are also used for advising purposes.
New Students should consider attending a SOAR for Success session. This is our "one stop shopping" day, where you can test, attend orientation, meet with an advisor and then register for your classes.
Do I have to test? If you have questions or wonder if you really need to test, read the information about alternatives, re-take, preparation, and sample questions.
Testing Tips:
- Get a good night's rest
- You can only test twice every 3 years
- Plan on 2 hours for the assessment and scoring
- Arrive at least a half hour early
- Pay in Jackson prior to testing
- Your receipt is required to enter the test room
- Receipts are not replaced if lost
- The fee is non-refundable
