Everett Community College is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

First accredited in 1948, EvCC’s accreditation was reaffirmed on the basis of a full-scale evaluation in 2000.

The Everett Community College Medical Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (CRB-AAMAE). What is accreditation?

Everett Community College chooses to be a member of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and go through the accreditation process every 10 years to better serve our students, our employees, and our community.

We'll examine: Are we doing what we say we are doing? How well are we doing it? How do we know? What evidence supports our claims? What can we do better.

Phases and Timelines

Phase 1: Form Self-Study Groups
Fall 2008 - Become familiar with the nine accreditation standards

Phase 2: Understand, Explore and Evaluate our College
Fall 2008-Spring 2009 - Engage in campus dialogue about our mission, what we do and how we do it. Research and gather evidence.

Phase 3: Tell Our Story
Spring-Summer 2009 - Prepare draft report.

Phase 4: Get Community Comments
Fall 2009 - Incorporate student and public observations into final report.

Phase 5: Send report to commission
Winter 2010 - Prepare for evaluators visit.

Phase 6: Host Campus Visit
April 2010 - Evaluators engage campus in conversation and present findings

Phase 7: Prepare for 2020. Take action on self-study findings.

Take advantage of the real opportunity accreditation gives each of us to reflect on what we do for our students and how we can improve.
