Celebrate Earth Week April 18-21 at EvCC! 

Join in EvCC's sixth annual Earth Week Celebration that includes a visit from Ciscoe Morris (Gardening with Ciscoe), the annual Plant Swap and Sale, a workshop to make non-toxic cleaners, free electronics recycling, and more.

Join the hunt for sustainability facts and win great prizes too, in the Eco Cache competition!

EvCC Earth Week Schedule 

Monday, April 18 - Thursday, April 21

Eco Cache Competition 
8 a.m.-4 p.m. | Various locations
Learn about EvCC's sustainability programs and projects while competing for valuable prizes. To play, search EvCC's Everett campus for facts hidden in places that house or benefit sustainability projects and programs. You can watch EvCC's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages for clues. If you find a fact, follow the directions inside to claim your prize. The contest runs until all the hidden facts are found or until 4 p.m. April 21. 

Monday, April 18

Eco Cache Begins!

Get out and find those sustainability facts! Turn them in to Student LIFE in Parks Student Union to win valuable prizes! See above for details. 

Create your own Non-Toxic Cleaners 
10 a.m. -12:30 p.m. | Henry M. Jackson Conference Center room 106
This free workshop from Washington State University Snohomish County Extension provides everything you need to create non-toxic cleaners for your home, for FREE! Space is limited, so be sure to come on time.

Tuesday, April 19

Grow your own Clean Air
10-10:20 a.m | Whitehorse Hall second floor critique space
Find out how house plants can improve air quality. Associate faculty member Bev Anderson offers information, tips and tricks for growing your own "air scrubber" plants. 

Plant Swap and Sale
10 a.m.-1 p.m. | Whitehorse Hall second floor critique space
Bring plants to trade, and take free plants. The Students for Environmental Awareness Club has joined forces with the Sustainability Initiative to offer even more great plants (and garden starts too!) for sale in addition to the swap. All proceeds benefit the plant swap and the SEA Club.

Gardening with Ciscoe
Noon-1 p.m. | Whitehorse Hall second floor critique space
Long a favorite of Pacific Northwest gardeners, Ciscoe Morris is a master gardener with a lot of style! Ciscoe will speak about gardening in our environment and answer your questions.

Wednesday, April 20

Free Electronics Recycling
10 a.m.-2 p.m. | Parking Lot F
3-R Recycling provides free recycling of computers, printers, cell phones and other electronics. Read which items are accepted

Sustainability Vendor Fair
10 a.m. -1 p.m. | Parks Student Union second floor hallway
Talk to representatives from local and sustainable vendors and businesses and see their wares. The fair features low-cost, energy-efficient items for savings at home.

Thursday, April 21

Eco Cache Ends

Sustain Yourself! EvCC Employee Only Event

EvCC employees can bring their unwanted surplusable items (no tagged items please!) to swap and/or shop for items they need. Free nibbles and beverages, Zumba demonstration and more!
