University Center Announces New Partnership and Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Everett

EVERETT, WA – Hope International University is joining the University Center of North Puget Sound in Everett, offering bachelor’s degree programs in management and human development (education or counseling concentration) beginning Fall 2008.

Courses are offered online in five-week modules, with one Saturday seminar every 10 weeks. Saturday seminars are held at the Everett Station in the University Center facilities.  Advisors will support students in identifying their goals and determining their course schedule.

Information sessions are scheduled for June 26 and August 7 at 6 p.m. at Everett Station, 3201 Smith Avenue, Everett.

“We are pleased to welcome Hope International University as a partner in the University Center” said Christine Kerlin, Executive Director of the University Center. “They are providing a flexible program with on-site student support, both of which are vital ingredients for student success.”

The human development program includes concentrations in counseling and education.  The management program focuses on preparing students for work in for-profit, non-profit, and governmental organizations.  Both programs are aimed at students who have already completed the first two years of their college education.

Everett Community College and Hope International University have signed an agreement enabling students holding their transfer associate degree to transfer with two years of college credit.

Hope International University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and approved to offer degrees in Washington by the Higher Education Coordinating Board.  The University Center of North Puget Sound is administered by Everett Community College with a mission to bring bachelor’s and master’s degree programs to North Snohomish, Island and Skagit counties.

The University Center also partners with Western Washington University, Central Washington University, Eastern Washington University, The Evergreen State College, and Washington State University, all of which offer degree programs through the University Center.
