International Business Roundtable Nov. 5 at EvCC
Learn about the European Union

EVERETT, WA – Learn about the European Union and its impact on American businesses at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 5 at Everett Community College’s International Business Roundtable speakers series.

Jonathan Bensky, who has 34 years of international expertise, including serving as a U.S. Department of Commerce Senior Foreign Commercial Service Officer and Senior Commercial Officer in American embassies around the world, will speak about the European Union works and how its actions can impact American companies.  

Bensky began his career in 1967 as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal. After serving at the U.S. State Department as a Foreign Service Officer, and working as a Senior Commercial Officer at American embassies in Kuala Lumpur, Manila, New Delhi, Singapore and the European Union before retiring from the U.S. Department of Commerce in September 2008.

He speaks five languages in addition to English, including Nepali, Hindi, Tamil, Bahasa Malaysia and French. Bensky has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Oakland University and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Hawaii’s East West Center.

Their presentation is the first in this year’s International Business Roundtable speakers’ series at Everett Community College, co-sponsored by the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce.
