David Bobroff Paintings at EvCC's Russell Day Gallery
EVERETT, WA – Seattle artist David Bobroff is showing five landscapes – a decade’s worth of paintings – at Everett Community College’s Russell Day Gallery Nov. 4-Dec. 10.
Bobroff spoke about his art Nov. 19 at a reception at the Russell Day Gallery.
His Photorealist paintings (paintings that look like photographs) depict landscapes showing the relationship between nature and the human-made world.
Each painting takes between six months and two years to complete. Because of the length of time it takes to create each painting, most of Bobroff’s work is in private collections.
“I hope viewers’ perceptions of the interaction between the natural world and what people do in it will be heightened and they’ll take away a sensitivity toward topics such as the impact people have on the land, and that what we do in our culture and civilization is really just a flyspeck in nature’s scheme of things,” he said.
EvCC’s Russell Day Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays.
Everett Community College is located at 2000 Tower St. in north Everett, two blocks west of North Broadway between 10th and Tower Streets.
