Get Free Tax Return Help at Everett Community College Jan. 28-April 15

EVERETT, WA – Everett Community College’s accounting department and AARP are teaming up to offer free tax preparation to middle- and low-income taxpayers, especially those age 60 and older.

Tax clinics will be offered Jan. 28 until April 15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at EvCC’s Rainier Hall, Room 104. The college is located at 2000 Tower St.

Taxpayers need to bring:

  • Valid picture ID and taxpayer identification number.
    Taxpayers will be asked for their cards showing Social Security numbers, Individual Taxpayer Identification or adoption Individual Taxpayer Identification.
  • Copy of last year’s income tax returns
  • W-2 forms from each employer
  • Unemployment compensation statements
  • SSA-1099 form if Social Security benefits were received
  • All 1099 forms (1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-misc., etc) showing interest and/or dividends as well as documentation showing the original purchase price of your sold assets
  • 1099R forms if you received a pension or annuity
  • All forms indicating federal income tax paid
  • Child care provider information (name, employer ID, Social Security number)
  • All receipts or canceled checks if itemizing deductions
  • Social Security numbers for all dependents
  • Form 8832 or copy of divorce degree for non-custodial parent claiming child

Tax-Aide program volunteers will be ready to assist in preparing these tax forms: 1040, including Schedules A, B, C-EZ and D; 1040A including Schedules 1, 2 and 3; Schedule EIC; child and dependent care credit; education credits; and child tax credit. These forms will be provided for taxpayers.

Volunteers cannot assist with returns involving rental income.
