Gov. Gregoire Appoints Janet Kusler to Everett Community College Board of Trustees
EVERETT, WA – Washington state Gov. Chris Gregoire has appointed Snohomish pharmacy owner Janet Kusler to Everett Community College’s Board of Trustees.
Kusler, who owns Kusler’s Pharmacy in Snohomish, has more than 15 years of business leadership experience. She also is a longtime education supporter, serving as board member for the Snohomish Education Foundation and the group’s current vice president of fund development.
“In these difficult economic times, Everett Community College has a unique opportunity to work with state leaders and local businesses to implement strategic and relevant education that will lead our community forward. I am delighted with the opportunity to be part of that team,” Kusler said.
Kusler replaces trustee Thomas Gaffney, who completed his term in October 2011 after serving on the board since 2002.
“Tom’s outstanding leadership will have a long-lasting impact at the college. We appreciate his service and support for students, faculty and staff,” said EvCC President David Beyer. “I’m excited to welcome Janet to the board and believe our college will benefit from her extensive business and education expertise.”
Kusler’s term is from October 2011 through September 2016.
Kusler, who graduated from Washington State University’s College of Pharmacy in 1980, is a member of the National Community Pharmacists Association, International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists and is a member and past board member of the Washington State Pharmacy Association.
She also currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for WSU’s College of Pharmacy and teaches a WSU class in pharmacy ownership.
She has been awarded the Innovative Pharmacist of the Year from Washington State Pharmacy Association, Regional Pharmacy of the Year from McKesson and Pharmacist of the Month from Professional Compounding Centers of America.
