Exhibit Showcases Wooden Boatbuilding Sept. 24-Oct. 23 at EvCC’s Russell Day Gallery
EVERETT, WA – Experience the craftsmanship of wooden boatbuilding and watch a demonstration of boatbuilding techniques Sept. 24 to Oct. 23 at Everett Community College’s Russell Day Gallery.
“The Art and Science of the Wooden Boat” will showcase sails, tools, models, partially built boats and completed boats built at the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in Port Hadlock, Wash., the only school in the world to teach the methods developed in the early 1900s by Puget Sound shipwrights and master boat builders.
Watch a boatbuilding demonstration at a public reception from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 27.
EvCC’s Russell Day Gallery is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Fridays. The gallery is closed Saturdays and Sundays.
The gallery is located in Parks Student Union room 219 at Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St.
