Cosmetology Remodel

MARYSVILLE, Wash. – Everett Community College's School of Cosmetology is showing off its makeover with tours of the remodeled salon and classrooms Oct. 15-19.

The school, 9315 State Ave., Suite G, in Marysville, underwent an extensive remodel this summer. Changes include 64 new styling stations, a new shampoo area and a new manicure and pedicure area.

"Students will be learning in a school that is equipped like a professional salon now," said EvCC Cosmetology instructor Tina Evans. "It's an incredible transformation. We're excited to show students and clients."

The college will celebrate with a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. Oct. 15 and specials and tours throughout the week. EvCC's School of Cosmetology offers a wide variety of salon services to the public, including haircuts and color, nail care and skin care.

The remodel makes room for 20 more students to participate in the program, Evans said.

"At Everett Community College, students can learn the skills they need at about half the cost of a private cosmetology school," she said.

Armand PachecoEvCC's School of Cosmetology is also celebrating the start of a new instructor, Armand Pacheco, who has 26 years of salon experience. He previously worked as hairstylist and as a cosmetology school director, lead educator and artistic director for Gene Juarez and Gary Manuel Aveda Academies.

EvCC cosmetology graduates must complete at least 1,730 hours of classes, in preparation for state cosmetology licensing exams. Students can attend full-time or part-time and earn a certificate in cosmetology or an associate of technical arts degree.
