EvCC Administrative Assistant Carol Tompkins Receives Exemplary Staff Award
EVERETT, Wash. – Everett Community College administrative assistant Carol Tompkins received the Washington state Staff Training for Technical and Community Colleges exemplary staff award on Aug. 8.
Tompkins, who works for the college’s Health Sciences and Public Safety division supporting eight programs and more than 100 faculty and staff, earned the award for Region C, which includes seven community and technical colleges.
She was applauded for her work coordinating the division’s move from Index Hall to the new Liberty Hall, which opened in April 2013, dedication to faculty and staff and care for students.
“I am consistently impressed with how student-centered Carol is in her approach to her job,” said Elliott Stern, former EvCC Dean of Health Sciences and Public Safety, who nominated Tompkins for the award.
She is “hypercompetent, kind and dedicated to our programs and the college. She puts students first in every decision she makes. She knows no clock in getting the job done,” Stern wrote in his nomination.
Tompkins has worked at EvCC since 1999.
