First Floor of Rainier Hall Closed for Repairs
The first floor of Everett Community College's Rainier Hall will be closed for repairs for the rest of Fall quarter.
The closure is due to damage from when the City of Everett's combined sewer and storm water system was overwhelmed two times in the past six weeks.
EvCC hired an environmental consultant to check the air quality and the impact of the water on the walls near the floor. The air quality test came back normal. However, mold was found in the drywall. The mold is encapsulated in the drywall. The environmental consultant has recommended that the college replace 2 feet of drywall at the floor throughout the entire space, said Pat Sisneros, EvCC Vice President of College Services.
To complete this work as quickly as possible, EvCC is moving staff and classes off the first floor through the rest of the Fall quarter.
The following departments will move to these temporary locations:
Tutoring Center moves to Index Hall Rooms 108 and 111 - Effective Oct. 7
Bridges Lab moves Shuksan Hall Room 233 - Effective Oct. 7
Bridges Center moves to Index Hall Room 103 - Effective Oct. 14
If you have a class on the first floor of Rainier Hall, your instructor will notify you with your new class location.
