Katie Jensen Leads Everett Community College’s Basic Skills and Developmental Education Division
EVERETT, Wash. – Katie Jensen is Everett Community College’s new leader of the college’s Basic Skills and Developmental Education division.
Jensen, of Everett, was previously the director of Transitional Learning at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham. Prior to that role, she served as WCC’s business coordinator for community education.
EvCC’s Basic Skills and Developmental Education division includes adult basic education, high school completion, GED, English as Second Language, Youth Re-Engagement program (U3), Volunteer Literacy program, ESL for International Students (IELP) and the Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) programs.
Before moving to Washington state, she was director of a school-based mentoring program in South Dakota, a visiting English professor in Kangnug, South Korea and a teacher to international students at the University of Montana.
She has a bachelor of science, journalism in advertising and a bachelor of arts in Italian from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in applied linguistics from the University of Montana.
