Don't wait to finish your GED®!

Please note that when you come for orientation, be prepared to stay a minimum of 3 hours and leave children at home. Bring the following items with you: Current driver's license or id card (not expired), social security number, complete mailing address including apartment number and zip code and $25 for registration.

Attention: Beware!!!

There is a scam running nation-wide in which third-party web-sites claim to be able to offer students an "on-line" GED®. These websites are charging hundreds of dollars for their "certificates." This is a scam! The GED® test is now computer based, however, you still need to come to the testing center to take the actual test! Only tests that are taken at a testing center (such as EvCC) can be counted towards a valid GED® certificate.

What is the GED®?

The GED® consists of four separate tests that assess the knowledge and skills equivalent to high school graduates in the following areas: The tests are $30 each and you can take them separately.

  • Reasoning through Language Arts (Reading and Writing)
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies

Passing the four GED® tests is widely accepted for furthering your studies and career. The College's Testing Center offers the GED® tests at regularly scheduled days and times. The Testing Center can be reached by dialing 425-388-9288.

Benefits to acquiring a GED® Certificate

  • Having a GED® Certificate is accepted by most employers as an equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • It is accepted by most college admissions officers.
  • A level of learning that meets or exceeds the performance of the top two thirds of U.S high school graduates if you acquire the GED®.

EvCC GED® preparation classes are located throughout Snohomish County. There are locations at Everett Community College, Tulalip College Center in Marysville, Park Place Middle School in Monroe and Weston High School in Arlington.
