Astounding, daunting, and disheartening only starts to describe the events that unfolded at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University on April 16 when a student gunman killed 32 individuals, wounded many more and then shot himself.

Student fee meets resistance

As the day to vote on the Student Campus Enhancement Fee approaches, current students, future students and community members have different feelings on the fee and what it holds for EvCC.

All current students of EvCC are eligible to vote next month on the fee to fund 12 campus improvements including a new athletic facility. However the students voting are making a decision on a fee that won’t be imposed until the new athletic facility opens in 2010. This has left many EvCC students wondering “why now?”

John Edwards to visit EvCC

Sen. John Edwards will be visiting the EvCC campus on May 1 for a Town Hall meeting in the Parks Student Union Building Multi-Purpose Room beginning at 2 p.m.
