EvCC womens softball takes first at Division Championship

The Everett Community College Trojan softball team has won its first Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) North Division championship. Four out of five freshmen were placed on the second team All League North Division. Dani Monson, Markeeta Munger, Megan Monaghan and Robyn Schlins made first team All League North Division. JoJo Palmer was named pitcher of the year in the North Division.

Sophomore Jamie Foote was named MVP for the second year in a row for the North Division. She was also named EvCC’s Female Athlete of the Year for the second time, making EvCC history as the first female to be awarded the title two years in a row.

Dani Monson made the 2007 NFCA NWAACC All-American Team and got the Speedline Golden Shoe Award – a national award for the most stolen bases in the league.

Coaches Mandi Johnson and Randy Smith were named Coaches of the Year for the NWAACC North Division and coaches for the All-American Team.

The Everett Trojans girls Fastpitch softball team placed first in the North league on May 12, by winning both games against Skagit Valley Community College. The girls had the best season on record at 33-3. It is by far the best softball season that Everett CC has ever seen.
