Students - Exercise Your Right to VoteBy Rich Haldi, EvCC Vice President for Student Services As the College’s Vice President for Student Services, I have had the distinct pleasure of working with the Associated Students Student Senate for the last eight years in helping the Senate set goals for the year. This interactive process involves about one hour of three consecutive Senate meetings and between sessions the student senators are asked to talk with their student associates to gather input/feedback from the students whom they represent. The input/feedback from students helps the student senators to prioritize the goals and develop a work plan to accomplish them. This goal setting process has identified many of the primary concerns of students about improving student life, services and programs, and other amenities to enhance the physical and material comforts and conveniences for students and the campus community as well. The goals are shared with the College’s executive level leadership and over the years, significant progress has been made on many of them. Impeachment according to JoeJoe Menish | Staff Writer I pose a question to the readers: at what point is impeachment the best choice for an administration involved in high crimes? These would be officials who are now criminals. How can we not consider impeachment for a President guilty of crimes against humanity, illegal wiretaps on Americans, and denial of due process? The right of all Americans to impeach public officials is garnered and anchored by the U.S. Constitution. Impeachment requires an accusation from the House of Representatives and a trial and conviction by the senate. |
Teachers at EvCC rarely post grades: and it ‘grinds my gears’Jennifer Kelley | Staff Writer I don’t understand why teachers don’t post their grades somewhere for students to gauge their progress in the class. Whether they need to work harder, or if they are already excelling, it could alleviate some student stress. One thing that really bothers me about the teachers that I have come in contact with is my grade has remained a mystery throughout the course. The Bedpost: Freaky Ex’sRelationships don’t always end on the best note. And often times the loved ones left behind refuse to be forgotten Kelcey Hatch | Editor Relationships can end one of two ways. The first, and more preferable option, is a joint agreement that said relationship is not working, a few tears are cried over a tub of double chocolate ice cream and the participants go their separate ways. Leaving a tiny but manageable scar on ones heart. The second way a relationship might end tends to leave a gaping, infected wound that continues to ooze pus for what seems like ages. |

All-over print hoodies are dead to the fashion worldGone are the days of blinding prints of hearts, clouds, stars and brass-knuckles Josh Stohl | Staff Writer I deem the all-over-print-design hoody officially over. If you don’t know what I speak of your eyes are closed. These hoodies are featured among society’s finest and lowest. They feature designs such as multi-colored stars, clouds, words, skulls, guns, logos, and everything else. The design is a print Xeroxed numerous times all over a fabric. Its like taking a stamp, and stamping a hoody until it is entirely covered. I’m sure you’ve seen them among campus, in |
