Our Program

Business Technology(BT) is offered through the Business and Applied Technology Division and includes programs leading to one and two year certificates or a two-year Associate in Technical Arts(ATA) degree. These programs offer training for both recent high school graduates and people who are re-entering the work force, either seeking a new career or updating and enhancing previously acquired skills.

First-year courses emphasize basic knowledge and skills necessary to prepare students for entry-level office positions. Second-year offerings include advanced courses and internship experience to prepare students for higher levels of employment.

With the help of an advisor, students select courses in business technology, general business, and other related areas. At the time of advising, students are placed in skills classes according to their proficiency.

Employment

Employment opportunities for skilled office workers continue to be high. It is projected that demands will increase for medical office, medical transcription, and medical billing and coding personnel. In addition, the demand for office support staff and legal assistants in both the private and public sectors remains high.
