The SBD Model

The School of Business Design is where innovation, design and entrepreneurship meet. It's where we create new ways to solve old problems. It is a program where students can get a certificate or a degree in entrepreneurship. It is a place where they become an entrepreneurs.
What is an Entrepreneur?
Entrepreneurship is a way of thinking and acting that allows us to see and do things a little differently. We call it Design Thinking and it is the philosophy that drives the School of Business Design.
We have created a customized experience, and our Design Thinking Framework is the catalyst that holds our programs and our community partners together, giving the entrepreneur a clear and concise model for developing their own, customized, innovative experience.
We use DESIGN THINKING to inspire innovation, we COACH students to be sole proprietors of their own lives, we build relationships through teamwork and COLLABORATION, we create value-led SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS.
Inspired by Babson College and Stanford’s Design School’s multidisciplinary approach and radical collaboration, they have created a culture of innovation in their programs. Stanford termed the word ‘Design Thinking’ to mean uncovering unexplored innovations. We have taken it a step further, and applied a design thinking framework to entrepreneurship.
For us, design thinking is the conscious decision making process of transforming ideas into useful innovations. But innovation requires space for exploration and a disciplined framework to produce results. Innovation inspires entrepreneurship, and the process cannot be reduced to a cookbook routine. It is not a linear, how-to, one size fits all process, which is the foundation of most programs, books, workshops and conferences that dominate the field today. It is a dynamic, evolving, individualized process.
What will design thinking do for me?
- It helps students think creatively and spontaneously.
- It will help students use the concept of profit to their advantage.
- It will teach students how to effectively manage their time and make the most of scarce resources.
- It will challenge students to behave ethically
- It will allow students to create their own path for their own lives.
