Everett Community College, a leader in criminal justice education for more than 30 years, offers two degree options for students interested in criminal justice careers.
Associate in Applied Science - Transfer
This degree is designed to transfer specifically to Central Washington University's Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Administrative Management or Information Technology.
The Associate in Applied Science is considered a technical degree and prepares the qualified student for more immediate employment in the criminal justice field with the opportunity for transfer to a Bachelor's program.
Students should meet with a Criminal Justice Program advisor and maintain their Associate in Applied Sciences curriculum guide. 
Associate in Arts and Sciences - Direct Transfer
The Associate in Arts and Sciences Direct Transfer degree is a general education degree with an emphasis in Criminal Justice, and transfers directly to most universities. NOTE: Though courses in a foreign language are not required for the EvCC Direct Transfer degree, some universities may require two or three quarters of foreign language for admission or graduation.
Students should meet with a Criminal Justice Program advisor and maintain their Associate in Arts and Sciences curriculum guide.
Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) is the process of awarding college credit for learning that has taken place away from the college classroom. Everett Community College's Criminal Justice Program has entered into an agreement with the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission to allow 20 college level credits for successful completion of the Washington State Basic Law Enforcement Academy. These 20 credits will be applied to specific courses in EvCC's Associate of Applied Science - Transfer (AAS-T) degree curriculum.

Why you need a degree in Criminal Justice -
To apply for employment, many agencies now require:
- 90 credits toward a criminal justice or related degree, or
- Two year degree in a criminal justice program, or
- Two year degree in a related field of study.
- Major federal agencies require a bachelor's degree.
