What it covers...

  • We are a "jump-start" funding source to help for the first quarter
  • This grant supports students who are not receiving tuition assistance through other programs
  • WorkForce Training pays for all tuition, lab fees and books
  • Required tools/supplies for courses are not included (Cosmetology, Aviation, Welding, Photography, Art, etc.)
  • Continuing Education Courses are only covered if job related
  • Funding is restricted to ATA – Vocational, non-transfer and certificate programs, GED & placement test fees

What is Low-Wage Working Parent Assistance? 

The low-wage working parent grant covers those who are financially responsible for a child(ren), you are working, and fall within the income requirements below:

What is WorkFirst Assistance?

WorkFirst is Washington State's welfare reform program that helps people in low-income families find jobs, keep their jobs, find better jobs, and become self-sufficient. As this goal is achieved, savings from reduced caseloads have been reinvested in programs that help participants become more employable and provide them with opportunities for better employment and wages.

You are eligible if...

Receiving "Temporary Assistance for Needy Families" (TANF) benefits and working at least 20 hours a week, and have documented Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) caseworker approval. Prospective students should contact the college at the number to the right.
