Message from the
EvCC President, Dr. David Beyer
Welcome to Everett Community College!
At EvCC, we not only teach inclusion, we live it. Our campus is one of the most diverse in the region – welcoming students with an extremely wide range of backgrounds and experiences. In 2007, students of color represented over 27 percent of the total student population and we are committed to reaching more underrepresented and underserved people in our college’s service region.
The college continues to develop and foster a welcoming, safe and supportive learning environment for all students. To reach this goal, our comprehensive student support services and programs work with many organizations and student groups to meet the needs of our growing diverse populations. I encourage you to learn more about the services and programs offered – and take advantage of them!
The advancement and promotion of diversity and inclusion are at the core of our mission, vision statement, and strategic plan. We believe diversity is an integral component of an enriched quality of life in our society and of a quality education; and our talented faculty has developed a full array of diversity courses to prepare all students to live and work in an increasingly diverse world.
Recently, Associate Dean for Diversity Christina Castorena was honored as an Outstanding Advocate for Equity by the Washington State Trustees Association of Community and Technical Colleges. Promoting a learning and working environment that respects and welcomes diversity is a priority for all of us at the College. Christina is recognized as a leader in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion and plays an instrumental role in setting a path to advance the College as a leader in our community. This special acknowledgement indeed calls attention to the exceptional leadership taking place on our campus.
This webpage provides information and links to diversity programs and resources on campus. I invite you to become part of Everett Community College and I look forward to meeting and working with you. Best wishes for your success and enjoyment at Everett Community College.
