    • "Oksana improved her 6K time from 27:16 to 25:53. She is a 38-year old mother of four who is an inspiration to many young GRCC athletes. She never misses a practice and works harder than the athletes 20 years younger."

    • "Veronica ran to a new PR time of 18:53 and ran away from the competition at the NW Region Championships where she won by 13 seconds. In doing so, she established a new PR and ran under the 19 minute barrier for only the second time in her career - impressive given the slow, sloppy, conditions."

    -- Event: 5 Kilometer Cross Country; Mark: 18:06.35 at Willamette Invitational
    Nominator Comments:
    • "Katie placed 6th overall at the Willamette Invitational - the best ever finish at this meet by a Trojan athlete regardless of gender. Her time of 18:06.35 represents a 38 second PR and is the 2nd fastest all-time performance for EvCC at this distance and just .98 seconds from two-time NWAACC XC Champion Shawna Schooley’s school record of 18:05.37. Katie led the Trojan women to a 2nd place team finish just 19 points back from the NAIA’s #1 ranked University of British Columbia and more than 40 points in front of the NAIA's #7 and #9 ranked Northwest Christian (Eugene) and Lewis-Clark State (ID) teams."

    • "Katie ran a great race and finished 5th in a competitive Sundodger field. Her 22:22.89 6k time broke two-time NWAACC XC Champion Shawna Schooley's EvCC school record (22:32.12) set on the same course in 2010 by nearly 10 seconds."

    • "Freshman Jessica Mildes' collegiate debut was certainly an impressive one as she placed fourth in a very competitive field that included the NAIA's 6th-ranked Carroll College team. Her 14:52.6 time is impressive on a slow course. Jessica is clearly someone to watch for in the hunt for the women's individual NWAACC title hunt this fall."
    • "Jessica ran a smart race in her collegiate debut for the Sasquatch finishing 4th against some solid runners. Jessica stayed at the back of the lead pack for the first 2k then moved into the top 6 on the last loop before passing two ladies in the last 400 meters. Great early season race."

    -- Event: 5 Kilometer Cross Country; Mark: 17:59.7 at NWAACC North-West Region Championships

    • "A tremendous performance from Katie on her way to winning the individual title at the North-West Region Championship."
