Pre-College: East County

Transitional Studies and GED® Preparation

Learn basic reading, writing and math, and prepare for the GED® test. Transitional Studies classes are offered in the evenings at East County Campus, in Monroe. These classes are designed to prepare students to take the GED® test, and to continue into college-level certificate and degree programs. Classes cost $25 each quarter. Orientation and Assessment

New students and students who haven't taken these classes for two or more quarters must participate in an orientation and assessment session. Ongoing orientation and assessment may be available. Please call 425 259-8732 to sign up for the next orientation.

Please be on time for your appointment and be prepared to stay for three hours. Also, make arrangements for child care and bring the following items:

  • Current photo ID
  • Social Security Number (optional)
  • Mailing address
  • $25 class registration fee (check, money order, credit or debit card)

GED en Español

Estas clases preparan al estudiante para tomar la versión en Español del examen de GED. El diploma GED que es equivalente al diploma escolar al nivel High School de los Estados Unidos. Las clases, los libros de texto y todos los exámenes del programa son en español.

English Language Acquisition

The English Language Acquisition (ELA) department provides a variety of classes for students for whom English is not their first language. Classes are offered in the evenings at Monroe High School, 17001 Tester Road, Monroe. Las clases de ELA en Monroe son los martes a jueves, 6:10 - 9:10 p.m., en la escuela Monroe High School, 17001 Tester Road, Monroe, Washington.
