Financial Aid for Medical Coding

Online Verification Requirements

All online students are required to provide the following verification:

  • A full-color copy of valid government-issued identification
  • An official sealed high school or GED transcript directly from the school

Because we value you and to protect your identity - If Everett Community College's Office of Financial Aid suspects that a student or other individual has misreported information and altered documentation to fraudulently obtain federal funds, we may delay the disbursement of federal funds and we will report our suspicions and provide any evidence to the Office of Inspector General at 1-800-647-8733.

Apply for MC or MTE Financial Aid 

Everett Community College offers a variety of financial aid options to help you pay for the program, including grants and loans. Grants are federal, state, and institutional funds awarded on the basis of need which do not have to be repaid. EvCC participates in the Direct Loan program. Student loans are financial obligations that must be repaid.

Financial Aid Process

  1. To start our financial aid process, please contact our MC and MTE financial aid team at or 425-388-9157.  They will help you through each step of the financial aid application process.

  2. Complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Renewal Application if you are a returning student at .  EvCC's federal school code is 003776.

  3. Once the Department of Education has received and processed your FAFSA, EvCC's Financial Aid Department will receive your information electronically. If you provided an email and/or mailing address on your FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). Please note, the SAR is the Department of Education's respons to your FAFSA.

    • If your SAR indicates that changes are necessary, please go to the FAFSA website and make the necessary corrections.
  4. Once EvCC has received your processed application, the Financial Aid Department will mail you information requesting any additional documents mecessary to prepare your file for review. This could include:

    • EvCC Data Sheet
    • Verification Worksheet: If you have been selected for verification by the Department of Education or the EvCC Financial Aid Department. Tax return transcripts may also be required and can be requested on the IRS transcript request page.

    • Additional Documentation: Please respond to any other requests for information as quickly as possible when your file review is underway. Your financial aid award will not be determined until our office has received all requested items.

  5. Check the status of your financial aid by using the Student Financial Aid Portal.

    Log in with:

    • Username: SSN
    • Password: 6 digit date of birth (MMDDYY)
    • Select award year

Important Notices

To be considered for financial aid, you must have submitted all required paperwork 30 days prior to the start of the quarter, with the FAFSA completed 60 days prior to the start of the quarter.

We review and award financial aid in the order received. If it has been 21 days since you submitted your financial aid paperwork and you have not been contacted by the MC-MTE Financial Aid support team, please email for a status update.

Financial aid fist pays your tuition and fees. If there is any remaining balance, it will be authorized for release to you at the start of each quarter, with the exception of Summer quarter, which has a release date after July 1. If there are remaining funds, you may use them for educational expenses.

Registration opens for the Medical Coding classes following the same registration deadlines as the rest of the college and closes one week prior to the star of the quarter.

The cost for the program is $5928.48. Tuition is paid quarterly based on the number of credits taken.  There is a one-time $200 enrollment fee paid at the start of the program that includes access to the 3M Encoder and 3M online resources; currently this will tie to registration in MC 101.  There are quarterly online fees of $2.50 per credit taken.
