Dear Ocean,

Sarah Farkasosky

You terrify me.

I bottle

 my thoughts and,

 trusting you,

cast them

out to sea.

Please take them far away from here,

I admit

 It is not only you

I fear.

I hope they may drown out there,

 or the bottle may

break

 from the salt it wears.

Rebounding around the walls in my head,

I would much rather watch them

thrash

 against the rocks instead.

A quiet mind I finally greet,

 I just hope,

Bottle,

 you don't find feet.
