The Principle of Design

Adobe Illustrator, 17"x11"

Lindsey Payne

I wanted to create a work that said Anatomy, but was an infographic enough to be relevant. DaVinci's Vitruvian man was my largest inspiration, but I feel it came out a little more modern.

The Tranquility of
Gas Works Park

Adobe Illustrator, 3481x5185 px, 11.6"x17.3"

Nicole Anderson

This work was created in the style of the WPA National Park posters using a WPA-specific font. The photo was manipulated in Photoshop to take out details of the photo and quite a few color tones. The removal of details and colors resulted in a more tranquil look for Lake Union and the downtown Seattle skyline and brought out a yellow glowing effect to the gasworks equipment and a soft glow to the skyline. Matching the font colors to the colors in the photo nearby adds to the more peaceful and natural look of Gas Works Park.

The Principle of Design

Adobe Indesign, 11"x16"

Aaron Anderson

This poster's creation originated a few years back when I just started my Graphic and Web Design journey through GRAPH172, demonstrating and explaining the principle of design. With it's simple clean shapes, complementary colors and easy to read visuals and explanations of each principle, it's a piece of work I look back on fondly as my big first step towards my career path.

Principles of Design Puzzle

Adobe InDesign, 3300x5100 px, 11"x17"

Nicole Anderson

This work graphically depicts the Principles of Design. It's shaped like a puzzle because each of the puzzle pieces acts on its own describing one principle in a fun unique way, but all the pieces work together to define the overall concept of Design Principles with a higher overarching meaning than the individual pieces. This work is colorful with good use of color gradients within each puzzle piece and good foreground and background contrast in the middle with the title.

Visit Neskowin

Adobe Illustrator, 792x1224 px

Reyna A. Cirignani Wallace

Every summer, I find myself walking down the coast of a tiny town called Neskowin Oregon. Caves punch holes in the dark cliffs, and dead tree stumps stick out of the sand like thumbtacks from the old "Ghost Forest." It is one of my favorite places on Earth, which made it the perfect location to base my National Geographic poster design.

Fallen Divinity
Fake Band Poster

11"x17", 300 dpi

Leon Huynh

I made a poster for a fake band my friends and I created. I wanted to base the theme on tarot cards, focusing on the card "The Sun" as the album title. I wanted to rechallenge myself by redoing a previous class assignment and see how far I've gone in my design skills.
