Changes that require additional revenue

Employee salaries at EvCC do not always reflect industry standards, nor achieve the SBCTC median range for similar positions at other state institutions. Current budget realities indicate salary parity will only be realized with additional funding. The creation of new positions also requires new revenues, and as the campus grows to meet enrollment goals, additional employees will be needed to support the expansion.
The development and maintenance of a centralized resource-sharing database would provide the college with a tool designed to enhance responsible stewardship. Ideally, the database would include the calculated the value of resources and track the cost-savings possible through resource sharing. Highlighting resource-sharing opportunities in a transparent manner can promote collaboration, encourage efficiencies, and enhance best practices across departments.

Changes that don’t require new revenue

The college could maximize a number of existing resources to more fully realize their potential without an influx of new or reallocated monies. Some possibilities include:

  • NBI Snohomish County tourism/ space use and other opportunities
  • Better classroom utilization throughout the day
  • More collaboration and understanding of tuition waiver program
  • Sharing of faculty for instruction of courses among the 5 Star Consortium Colleges as well as other partners.
  • Further involvement and partnership in business and community advisory boards
  • Additional partnership development with the capacity to impact systemic barriers
