Office 365 for Free

Office 365 Education makes the latest Office programs available for free to EvCC enrolled students, faculty, and staff. All you have to do is go to the Office.com website  and login using your EvCC email and password. 

What's in Office 365?

It includes the latest Office Online (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and OneNote) - which you can install on up to 5 PCs, Macs or mobile devices including Windows tablets and iPads®. You also get a terrabyte of free OneDrive storage (managed by EvCC) and users can edit and collaborate using Office Online, Yammer, and SharePoint sites.

What do I need to do?

  • Be an active enrolled EvCC students or active EvCC Employee.
  • Go to Office.com homepage 
  • Login with your EvCC email address (username@students.everettcc.edu for students). You may get a prompt for access from "Work or School account" or "Personal account" -- Please select "Work or School Account"
  • At the prompt, enter your EvCC Password to your account. (If you forgot your password, go to MyAccount to reset)
  • Look for the button to "Install Office" in the top menu.
  • Finally, you will see a page like the one on the right with the links for installing Office 365 on your device.

Legacy EvCC Microsoft Accounts

In September 2020, we have moved older accounts to our new EvCC Microsoft Account on September 1, 2020. If you previously had a (legacy) EvCC Microsoft user account, this was moved to a temporary username under OnMicrosoft. Users would still have had access to their legacy Microsoft account and files in OneDrive. Beginning January 2021, we will no longer support the older legacy OnMicrosoft accounts. If users have issues migrating OneDrive content, they may contact Technology Services/TechHUB.

How long can I use this plan for?

Students are eligible until they graduate or are no longer enrolled. After that time Office applications enter a reduced-functionality mode, where documents can be viewed but it isn’t possible to edit or create new documents. In addition, online services associated with the school email, like Office Online and OneDrive, will no longer work. If you choose to keep files long term, please use your EvCC Google Drive when you are no longer enrolled as a student.

Who manages the OneDrive account provided with this offer?

This account is managed by EvCC and should be used for school-appropriate content, such as homework and schoolwork. Permissions and access can be changed by the school’s IT administrator at any time.

Can I share the plan with others?

No. The offer is open to enrolled EvCC students and employees only.

Does this replace Canvas?

No. EvCC still uses Canvas for online teaching and Google Apps for student email and collaboration. Office 365 and the OneDrive shared account just gives you another tool for study, creation, and collaboration.
