Who Needs to Test

For students who do not qualify for Math placement using our FREE alternative placement using our placement form, EvCC requires the Accuplacer placement test for new students who are taking more than 7 credits or taking classes that have a math level prerequisite. 

Effective July 1, 2021, Accuplacer will only offer Math placement testing. For English placement, please refer to our Placement website. 

The Accuplacer test is untimed and is not pass/fail. It is a tool to help you and your advisor select the right classes for you to be successful.

You will receive your test results immediately after you finish testing. Your results will include information about your math placement. For most students, your next step after testing is to meet with an advisor and select classes. Please note that you will need both English and math placement to meet with an advisor. 

Test Locations and Times

We have three testing options available.

  1. Accuplacer via Zoom
  2. Accuplacer via Drop-In In-Person 
  3. Accuplacer via Pre-paid In-Person appointments

The placement test fee is $33.70. Retakes cost $11.24.

How Long Are My Scores Valid?

Two years from the date of testing.

Accommodations

Students who need an accommodation due to a disability must make special arrangements well in advance of testing. For information and assistance call 425-388-9288.

Test Retakes

The ability to re-take the placement test follows these guidelines:

  1. You can re-take each subject twice within two calendar years (a total of three times each).  
  2. If you're not sure whether your test counts as a re-take, please check with the Testing Center before paying your testing fee.
  3. A re-take fee of $11.24 should be paid at the Cashiers Office before testing.  Please bring your receipt with you when you come to test.  All payments must be made at the Cashiers office. The Testing Center can not accept direct payments.

Which Option is best for me?

Accuplacer via Zoom

The Testing Center will continue to offer qualifying students Accuplacer via Zoom until further notice.

The exam cost is $33.70. Students are allowed two additional retakes at $11.24 each.

Please read the following carefully:

The online Accuplacer test is proctored via Zoom. Please note you will need to download the Zoom app (although an individual account is not required). 

To qualify to take the test online, you MUST meet the following technical requirements: 
- Desktop computer or laptop (tablets, Chromebook and cell phones do not meet our requirements).
- A working built-in or external webcam and microphone.
- Internet speed must be at least 2 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload. Hot spots are not recommended.
- Browser with pop-up blocker disabled.
(Test your computer requirements by going to visiting the accuplacer website. )

If you DO NOT meet all four technical requirements, you are not eligible to take  the exam online at this time. You are welcome to take the test in-person or explore alternative placement . You can also email the instructor directly and request instructor permission via an entry code to add a class. 

How to sign up: 

If you meet all the technical requirements for the exam, here are the steps to sign up, pay and get your scores:

1. Select an available date and time on our YouCanBookMe calendar.  
2. Contact the Cashiers' Office (phone 425-388-9225, e-mail cashier@everettcc.edu, or in person during their open hours) to pay the testing fee of $33.70.  All payments must be made through the Cashiers office. The Testing Center cannot accept direct payments.
3. Once payment has been confirmed, the Testing Center can generate a voucher code for you to use to start your test during your Zoom session.  If you have a ctcLink number, we'll be able to verify online.  If not, please send a copy of your receipt to testing@everettcc.edu at least one hour prior to your appointment time. 
4. After you have completed the exam, you will be given the opportunity to save your scores as a PDF.  The Testing Center will also email a copy to you.

To qualify to PAY online, you MUST meet the following requirements:
1. You must have a ctcLink ID number in order to pay for the test online. Don't have a EvCC ctcLink ID number? Apply online with our free application!
2. You must be able to pay with a Credit Card. (Cash, Check and Debit can only be done in person).

Online Testing Times:
Sessions are limited to 5 students due to the limitations of Zoom. Please note that payment is required before beginning your test.  Sessions are first come, first served and are subject to change.

Accuplacer via Drop-In In-Person Sessions

Drop-In In-Person Accuplacer (no appointment needed) is currently offered:
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays starting any time after 9am and working until 12pm *or* starting between 1-3pm and working until 4:30pm and Fridays starting any time after 9am and working until 12pm.
Please note that this is dependent on space and staffing available.

  1. Visitor Parking is available.  
  2. Please visit the Cashier's Office in Parks Student Union Room 201 to pay for the test.  All payments must be made at the Cashiers office. The Testing Center can not accept direct payments.
  3. Bring your receipt and photo ID to the Testing Center in Glacier Hall Room 108.
  4. The test is untimed. On average, please allow at least 45 minutes to an hour to complete the exam.
  5. Once you have completed your exam, we will update your account with your scores.

Accuplacer via In-Person pre-paid appointments

How to sign up:
