Email to EvCC students, faculty and staff

Dear Everett Community College community,
I have watched the news coming out of the Middle East since last weekend with a heavy heart. It deeply saddens me to witness the violence and turmoil that has gripped the region, causing immense pain and suffering and the loss of many innocent lives.
Among a myriad of emotions, I know many of us feel helpless. Here at EvCC, we can support our classmates and colleagues who are feeling the weight of these tragic events. We can practice listening with respect and kindness, express our cares and concerns, and remind ourselves and those around us of the free supports available:
- Students may receive counseling through Counseling & Student Success. Please call 425-388-9263 or email counseling@everettcc.edu to schedule an appointment, or visit during office hours. See the EverettCC.edu/CSS webpage for 24/7 emergency counseling and referral options.
- Students and employees may speak with Diversity & Equity Center staff by calling 425-388-9306 or emailing diversity@everettcc.edu or by visiting during office hours.
- Faculty and staff may contact the free, confidential Employee Assistance Program, available 24/7, by calling 877-313-4455.
- Use EvCC’s online reporting tool to report discrimination, bias incidents or concerns about students.
We strive to foster an environment of belonging and mutual respect, of empathy and peace. We firmly believe in the power of education to bring about positive change in the world. Please take care of each other and yourselves.
With gratitude and respect,
Dr. Chemene Crawford
Everett Community College President
