Advanced Avionics

Advanced Avionics: Aircraft Electronics Technician Training

Learn to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft electronic systems.

Advanced Avionics Program

What is Avionics? Avionics is a term that includes everything on an aircraft that has a wire. That can be a passenger reading light, or a complex autopilot system. There is a video on the right hand side of the website called "Avionics: Are you up for the challenge?" that might answer your questions. Avionics is a term that can expand beyond aviation such as aerospace and drones. Graduates of the program will have hands-on experience in wiring an Avionics suite, troubleshooting and repairing wiring issues. Students will also have the opportunity to take the FCC license and the NCATT AET license. Please note that this opportunity is an additional cost and your instructor can proctor these exams during the second quarter.

Careers of Past Avionics Students

The program is designed to provide the training and experience for students regardless of whether they are new to the field, or have been in aviation awhile. Avionics careers may also include the aircraft maintenance licenses (A&P).

Please note that this list below is designed to give prospective students more information about possible employers, but does not guarantee employment. We do have an Employment Facilitator who works with our graduates.

Companies that have hired graduates of the Avionics program without an A&P license include: ATS, Blue Origin, Boeing, Columbia Helicopters, Freefly Systems, and SpaceX.

Companies that have hired graduates of the Avionics program with an A&P license include: Alaska Airlines, ATS, Boeing, FedEx, Horizon Airlines, and Freefly Systems.
