Providing a good Internship experience

At Everett Community College, making community connections and partnerships is an important part of our mission - which is why we will be here to assist you from the beginning of the internship process. By following the guidelines below, you will be able to offer a student a meaningful experience as well as give back to your community, evaluate a potential employee, and gain assistance with special projects.

  • Have a job description that includes the requirements, duties, wage and approximate schedule
  • Provide your intern with an orientation as you would any new employee including safety training
  • Make sure the intern has a supervisor that has patience, interpersonal skills, and a desire to be a role model for that intern
  • Evaluate the intern's performance and offer guidance and support throughout the internship
  • Help the intern to network with other employees
