Life Sciences

The Life Sciences Department offers courses that give students insight into the living world. We offer a selection of classes that address topics ranging from the inner workings of the human body to regional and global ecological systems and issues.

Students preparing for careers in the allied health sciences, such as nursing and dental hygiene, receive high quality instruction in cellular biology, anatomy, physiology, and microbiology.

Science majors pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, bioengineering, biotechnology and/or research science are well prepared for future academic and professional requirements through the majors’ sequence of biology courses.

Our department is committed to student success and excellence in teaching. The faculty holds advanced degrees in plant and animal biology, medicine, and nutrition. Instructors remain current both in their scientific fields and in teaching and learning by regularly participating in conferences and reading current publications.
