Voices of EvCC - Dave McCourt

Dave McCourt In 1960, Dave McCourt started his 30-year career at Everett Community College teaching political science and history.

At EvCC, he witnessed the politicaly turbulent times of the early sixties, serving as the advisor for the college's Political Science Club, which played a key role in bringing Senator "Scoop" Jackson to campus in 1962. He was also part of a group that was instrumental in bringing Senator Robert Kennedy to campus.

Dave also served as EvCC's Coordinator of Curriculum Development from 1964-1967 and as the Dean of Students for the 1967-68 school year. Afterwards, he returned to teaching. As an instructor, he developed and taught EvCC's original Irish history classes. 

For five years before his retirement in 1990, he was the first Quizmaster for the college's Hi-Q program, an academic quiz competition for local high school students.
