Graduation Application Process

Updated: October 17th, 2023

Congratulations on being close to completing your degree or certificate! For EvCC to award a degree or certificate, you must complete and submit a Graduation Application.

Before you submit a graduation application, are you eligible to graduate?

Students have the responsibility of verifying specific graduation requirements with their assigned program advisors. Specific program requirements are stipulated on the Program Checklists. Please see our catalog for graduation rules if you have been gone for more than 12 months.

To confirm if you are eligible to graduate, please make an appointment with your program advisor. You can find your assigned advisor in your ctcLink account.

If your assigned advisor in ctcLink is incorrect or you have not been assigned an advisor, please reach out to our Advising Center.

Is your information correct in ctcLink?

It is important to make sure your information is correct. Please verify that the following is correct in ctcLink Student Homepage:

  • Legal and preferred name
  • Home Address
  • Phone Number
  • Preferred Email
  • Do you need to update your program? Please submit a Major/Program Change Form
  • Do you need to transfer in classes taken at a different insitutition? Please complete the Transfer Credit Evaluation process.
  • Did you take a class before Fall 2021 that was repeated for a better grade? Please submit a Course Repeat Form. Submit the completed form to registration@everettcc.edu. Failure to submit this form may cause your Degree Audit tools to not calculate correctly.

If your legal name is not correct, please email registration@everettcc.edu to inquire what documents are needed.

You can update your preferred name, address, phone number and email via your ctcLink account

When can I apply?

Students should apply for graduation by the deadline. The application is open from the third week of the previous quarter through the second week of the graduation quarter.

Applications are available from:

  • Spring 2024: January 16 - April 12
  • Summer 2024: April 12 - July 15

** Winter 2024 graduation application is delayed due to a conversion in the database. Please log into your MyEvCC Student portal on December 10th to apply.

If you have missed the deadline, please apply for the next quarter. We do accept applications on an ongoing basis. Applying late will delay posting the degree until the end of the following quarter, when final grades post.

What items do I need to complete the Graduation Application?

1. You will need a completed checklist:

Please submit a completed checklist, approved degree plan from Starfish or an Academic Advisement Report (AAR) from ctcLink.

Note: Starfish and the AAR is meant to be used as a tool. There may be errors due to coding. We recommend that you use these tools alongside a completed checklist. Please consult with your program advisor and checklist for accuracy.

You can view your Academic Advisement Report for your degree or certificate by logging into ctcLink and selecting Student Homepage > Academic Progress. **

2. You will need a list of future classes:

You will need to know the classes you intend to take in your final quarter. If you are not sure, you can indicate the distribution areas you need to take. (Humanities, Natural Science, Natural Science with Lab, Social Science, A or B List elective, Basic Communication, etc)

**Please note that the ctcLink AAR is only available at this time for the following programs:

  • Associate of Art and Sciences DTA
  • Associate in Business AAS - DTA
  • Associate in Nursing AAS - DTA
  • Associate in Pre-Nursing AAS - DTA

Complete the online Graduation Application

Once you have completed or verified the previous steps, students are ready to apply for graduation! The Graduation Application is available within the MyEvCC Student Portal and is free to complete.

I applied. What happens next?

Once a graduation application is submitted, you will receive an email confirming the application was received by Enrollment Services. You will not receive any additional communication until after the final grades have been posted. If you have questions about eligibility, please make an appointment with your program advisor.

Once a student has completed all the requirements and grades are finalized on the transcript, the notation of the certificate or degree will be added to the transcript within 4 - 6 weeks. We process the applications in the order received.

Depending on the time of year, you should receive your diploma in the mail in 3 months after the degree is posted. There is no charge for the first copy of your diploma. If you need a replacement copy in the future, the cost is $5.30.

For students graduating in Spring Quarter, diplomas will be mailed out by mid-October for students who applied by the deadline. Students can view their degrees by accessing their unofficial transcripts.

RSVP for Commencement

The College holds one Graduation Celebration event each June. Some programs, such as Nursing and ORCA, hold separate events. You will receive Graduation Celebration information after you have RSVP'd to participate; information includes date, time, and location, how to order a gown, and more.

If you are planning to participate in the Graduation Celebration in June, be sure to RSVP with Student LIFE.
