Summer Quarter Financial Aid

Applying for Summer Aid is easy!

May 26th, 2023 is the Summer Financial Aid Deadline to receive your 2023-24 FAFSA or 2023-24 WASFA (and any required paperwork).  Summer Quarter tuition is due June 6th 2023. If you applied for financial aid and submitted all requested documents by the deadline, a tuition hold will be placed to keep you in your classes until your application is processed. You will be notified under the "Holds" section of your ctcLink account. If we determine you are not eligible for aid, or if your financial aid may not be enough to cover all of your tutiion and fees, the tuition hold will be removed and you be responsible to make payment arrangements with the Cashiers Office. Summer Financial Aid Eligibility Information

Please be advised that all summer awards are tentative and may be adjusted or canceled after spring quarter grades are posted and eligibility requirements are assessed. Please check your Financial Aid Tile in your ctcLink account to confirm your summer financial aid eligibility.

Minimum enrollment requirement:
The full-time and part-time enrollment requirements for Summer Quarter financial aid are the same as for any quarter for the academic year. Correspondence courses, Continuing Education credits, Transitional Studies Courses, English Language Learner credits, Audited courses, Adult Basic Education credits or courses outside of your program of study requirements, do not count toward the minimum enrollment requirement.

  • Pell Grant: minimum 1 credit
  • Federal Direct Loans: minimum 6 credits (half-time enrollment)
  • Washington College Grant, College Bound Scholarship programs require a minimum enrollment of 3 credits (less-than-half-time enrollment)
  • Some scholarship programs may have their own minimum enrollment requirements. Contact us if you have questions.

Late summer applications:
If you miss the  May 26th deadline, we can't guarantee your summer aid will be in place by July 3rd, but we will still process your application if you enroll. Please plan to pay your own initial educational expenses (tuition, fees, books, supplies) by the due date if your financial aid will not be ready in time. Tuition for Summer Quarter is due June 6th. Missing the summer deadline doesn’t mean you won’t receive summer aid if you qualify, it means it may not be processed in time to cover your initial educational expenses by the start of summer quarter.

Payment options to explore at EvCC if you missed the financial aid deadline:
If you are pursuing a professional/technical degree or certificate, please visit Workforce Funding webpage for more information or call 425-388-9106.
EvCC Cashiers Office offers a payment plan. Contact a cashier at 425-388-9225 or visit Enrollment and Tuition for more information.
Students may also apply for private loans (www.elmselect.com ). Private loans do not require financial aid eligibility, but must not exceed the cost of attendance. Please refer to Basic Expenses to Attend EvCC

Summer satisfactory academic progress requirement:
If you are a continuing student, you must meet satisfactory academic progress requirements for the prior year to receive aid. If you do not meet the 67% cumulative completion rate and 2.0 cumulative gpa by the end of Spring Quarter 2023, your eligibility for aid will be terminated, we will stop processing your aid and Summer Quarter 2023 aid will not be disbursed to you. If you were placed on Probation Status or on Probation with an Academic Plan for Spring 2023, you must still meet the satisfactory academic progress terms of your probationary quarter to be eligible for future aid. See the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for more information.

Summer refund and repayment policy:
Financial aid will be refunded to the aid programs if you withdraw from all of your classes during the college’s refund period. In addition, if you withdraw Summer Quarter, you may owe a repayment of aid you received (except direct loans that are payable according to the terms of the promissory note). If you withdraw during the federal refund period, (i.e., the first 60% of your enrollment period, the amount of aid that must be returned to the aid programs is based on the proportion of the quarter remaining (that was not completed). For example, if you withdraw with 80% of the quarter remaining, 80% of your aid funds must be returned to the aid programs. The amount that you must repay depends on the amount of college tuition and fees and the type and amount of aid your received for summer. Please see  Census Date, Refunds and Repayments.
