Student Story-Ashley Lindquest

Ashley Lindquest

Ashley was in her junior year at high school when she started researching a career in Cosmetology, and discovered that she was able to apply to the Everett Community College Cosmetology program through the Sno-Isle Skill Center. Sno-lsle Skill center funded a portion of the tuition during her entire senior year of high school. Ashley went through an interview process her junior year and was one of only 12 students selected out of approximately 100 applicants. She began the EvCC Cosmetology program the summer before her senior year. She knew this was a great opportunity for her to get started on a career she was going to love. Ashley was an excellent student and role model while she was enrolled at the EvCC Cosmetology program. She had perfect attendance and received the "Outstanding Graduate" award.

Ashley graduated on December 6, 2006 from the EvCC Cosmetology program and began an advance program at the Gary Manuel Salon in downtown Seattle in January of 2007. She explained that she goes through a one year training program, working five days a week, eight hours a day.  Ashley loves both haircutting and hair color. She feels that the EvCC Cosmetology program prepared her well for a great start in her career. Ashley says that the best part of being a hairstylist is getting to know people and seeing them smile when she is finished doing their hair. "It is the best!"
