Student Story-Katy and Dailynne

Katy Navarro

During her junior year Katy attended the Sno-Isle Skills Center in Everett in the cosmetology program. Katy enjoyed the program and applied to attend EvCC Cosmetology in her senior year. She was accepted and started summer quarter at EvCC.

Katy attended high school part time and EvCC Cosmetology part time. She graduated from high school in June 2012 and began attending the Cosmetology program full time. Her favorite thing about EvCC Cosmetology was learning something new every day. She completed her hours and graduated in April 2013.
Katy waited about six months after graduating to take her state board licensing tests. While in school Katy reconnected with her friend Dailynne.  Katy was motivated to get her license and start something new. She passed her test and was licensed in October 2013 and was hired at Lorinda’s Salon and Spa in Mill Creek.  Katy is currently working at Lorinda’s as a designer. She and Dailynne are working full time. Katy is just finishing up her “skill certification” and will soon be taking clients full time.

Dailynne Reid

Dailynne enjoyed attending EvCC's Cosmetology program.  She loved the fast-paced environment, learning something new every day and the great instructors in the program. She graduated in June 2013. Dailynne immediately took her state tests and earned her license. She began working at Lorinda’s Salon and Spa in August of 2013.  Dailynne works full time, Tuesday through Saturday, as a designer.
