What is a Processing Date?
The financial aid process takes time. Colleges set priority deadline dates to help students apply and submit documentation to the Financial Aid Office to ensure that their award is offered before the start of the term and ensure funds are available to meet payment deadlines. Students can still submit completed applications after these deadlines, but students will be responsible for their educational costs until financial aid eligibility is determined. It is advised that students file their FAFSA or WASFA a minimum of two weeks prior to the priority processing date and submit all requested documents to the Financial Aid office as soon as they received an email indicating that the Financial Aid Office has received their FAFSA/WASFA information.
