Alumni Spotlight - Casey Miller

From the age of 14, Casey Miller knew that she would someday be a business owner. With strong goals in mind, Casey attended EvCC to set herself up for success and graduate without debt.

"EvCC was a perfect fit," she says. "I immediately found the energy to be positive and really focused on student growth and success."

During her first week on campus, Casey applied for a job in the student activity center (now Student LIFE) and worked as the Lecture Series Coordinator. "I learned some fantastic things about working with vendors and contracts. It was a wonderful networking opportunity," she remembers.

Casey went on to graduate from Western Washington University, eventually opening her own business, The Skin Care Lounge, in 2008. In Fall 2014, she returned to EvCC for the college's year-long Small Business Accelerator, a program of EvCC's Corporate & Continuing Education Center for established business owners looking to grow to the next level through the sharing of knowledge, tools, and expertise.

She offers proven advice to EvCC students: "Chase your dream! Life is pretty fantastic when you go after what you want. When we arm ourselves with knowledge, we can take on any challenge."
