Sending Transcripts to EvCC / Requesting your EvCC Transcript

Do I need to send my transcripts to EvCC?

For general admission, transcripts from your high school and/or previous colleges are not necessarily required. However, there may be three reasons to send transcripts:

  1. Algebra and/or chemistry and/or computer applications coursework as listed on your high school or college transcripts may satisfy a degree competency requirement or course prerequisite.
  2. Previous college coursework may be transferable toward meeting certificate or degree requirements at EvCC. See Transfer Credit.
  3. Some of our professional career programs, such as Nursing, Medical Assisting and Physical Therapist Assistant, may require transcripts as part of the application process for the program.

For Options 1 and 2, you may either have official transcripts sent directly to Enrollment Services, or you may obtain official transcripts yourself, keep them in an official sealed envelop, and submit them yourself to Enrollment Services. For Option 1, you must submit the "Request for Placement Test Waiver". For Option 2, you must submit "Request for Transfer Credit Evaluation".

For application to one of our professional career programs (Option 3), the official transcript(s) must be submitted directly to the designated program office with the specific application form for that program.

How do I arrange to have my EvCC transcript sent somewhere else (another college, employer, myself, etc)?

Please Note: At no time may transcripts be requested by telephone or email. Your signature is required to release any information regarding your student records.

First, decide if you need an official or unofficial copy of your transcript. An official transcript is a copy of the student's academic record bearing the College's seal and the signature of the Vice President for Enrollment Management. A transcript remains official as long as it remains sealed in the envelope of its original issue. An unofficial transcript is an unsigned and unsealed copy of the student's record and is used primarily for advising purposes; we recommend that you keep an unofficial copy in your personal files for reference purposes.

Current or former students may request a transcript be sent to themselves or to another destination by doing one of the following:

  1. Students may come in to the Enrollment Services Office and submit a transcript request form.
  2. Students can mail or fax a transcript request form or a letter to Enrollment Services containing the following information: Current name, former name (if applicable), birth date, student identification number or your social security number if you don't know your SID, general dates of attendance, street address and phone number.  Please be sure to indicate if you are requesting an official or unofficial copy and it is important that you provide the precise address where you need your transcripts sent.  Without the information listed here, it is not possible for us to process your request and the letter or form must be personally signed. There is no fee. We attempt to respond to requests within 3 working days. The fax number is 425-388-9173.

Official transcripts are available in Jackson Center at the Office of Enrollment Services, in most cases while you wait. Requests that are mailed or faxed to our office are usually mailed to the requested address within 3 working days.

Unofficial transcripts may be obtained at the Enrollment Services Office, or by using the Student Kiosk to print an unofficial transcript; to do so you must know your Student ID and PIN. You may also request an unofficial transcript by fax at (425) 388-9173; if you make the request by fax, you must include the information above.

Transcripts are withheld if all obligations to the College, financial or otherwise, are not fulfilled, or as the result of a disciplinary action.

If you are sending someone to pick up a transcript for you in Enrollment Services, that person must provide a recently signed and dated release from you and show picture identification.

Effective April 1, 2004, official and unofficial transcripts are free. However, please be aware that requests of more than ten transcripts in a single day may incur a charge.
