Alumni Spotlight - Eric Russell

Eric Russell remembers his time at EvCC and how it helped bring his career into focus. "I wasn't sure what I wanted to do and the business and accounting courses at EvCC really helped me hone in on my future career," he says. EvCC is something of a family affair for Eric, whose father graduated from the college, along with three of his own children, two through the ORCA program. Today, he is the chief financial officer for the Port of Everett, having returned recently after formerly spending 11 years as the Port's senior accountant and information services manager, as well as the director of properties and development. He also spent ten years in finance at Vulcan, Inc. before returning to the Port. Eric offers advice to current EvCC students: "Talk with your instructors; allow them to help you and your class time will be beneficial."
